Biggest Alien Ever Made

When you built like a front rower footy player ,finding the right board off the rack and even ordering a custom board can be be bit daunting after all extra foam is a must !

With time restraints , broken board inspirations . We had to get this right for this surfers dream trip !

This is probably the biggest Alien we have ever made . The order was a custom for Mark G who is a big lad ,around the 115kg and requested :

"I snapped my old faithful and I want as much volume as possible , even more if possible but I don't want a mini mal  kind of something updated as my everyday go to board ,the (broken board) replicated please ! "

The Dimensions are 7'4 by 22 3/4 by 3 1/4 . The old faithful broken board was a Sky Surfboards from Byron Bay , it was really nicely shaped board .

The process to make this custom surfboard as the outline of Marks old faithful was very similar to the Alien . A "High Performance style fish" .

This board is made from a blank which normally we order in , it takes an extra 2 weeks to get one .

With the special blank which has a thicker stringer  I can get 5 inches of nose rocker and 2 1/2 tail curve / rocker  . I also widened the tail pod outline slightly (its over 16 inches  at the 12inch mark and added a fair bit of volume through the nose foil .

Volume is 59 litres . Looks nice with the thicker stringer (mid production).

Standard Alien swallow tail and its set up as Futures Five Fin .
The bottom shape is slight single concave deepening under the front foot then into a double concave with it tapering back into a slight acute single off the last few inches of the board .
Its designed to be a user friendly performance fish for large surfer , who likes the extra foam ! Mark G , small day in Fiji .
Lot of surfers struggle to find the right surfboard in the racks at a surf shop these days and often get talked into the wrong board , contact us if you looking for a  different direction in your surfing or perhaps a little extra foam in your next shooter or just want some unbiased advice on where to go with your next surfboard design .

On the bigger days I got some fantastic, long waves from way up the reef and the Alien had great speed with me on board.

As you’d know, once you’ve got a few mechanical waves like that and found your feet, you’re then able to experiment with pushing turns a bit more etc.

Mostly on the best waves I was just driving hard to get through the faster sections. All up mate a great outcome and happy with the board.
